Boston College Graduate 2014
I love reaching out to my former players and hearing about where they are today and what their experience has been playing lacrosse at the college level. Their different stories always bring me back to the times I coached them as young athletes and it always brings a smile to my face.
Claire was one of the hardest workers I have ever worked with. She was always focused, determined, responsible and willing to do whatever was best for the team. When she was named Captain for BC Lax after being a walk on as a freshman, I was not surprised one bit. Anyone would have been lucky to have her on their team as a teammate, a leader and backbone on their defense. On and off the field she was a great person and a pleasure to coach.
I hope you read these stories players who were all different and truly special and beautiful in their own way and I hope you can see how no matter how different or outside the box you may think you are- its those intangibles that matter..... The best part about sports is seeing someone else's journey and hard work and belief in themselves or in each other to overcome a challenge-spark a light inside someone else who needs it.
If you have a dream in your heart to play lacrosse at a higher level, do everything you can to reach that goal and never give up. Dreams are put in your heart for a reason. With determination, focus, confidence, humility and consistent hard work, anything is possible... and being a part of a great team is incredibly rewarding.
